7. Availability and modifications

1. Introduction

1.1

The following are .legal's AI Terms (hereinafter "AI Terms"). The AI Terms govern the Customer's use of AI-assisted features within .legal's Services. By activating AI Features, the following AI Terms are accepted without any constraint or reservation. The AI Terms operate in addition to .legal's terms, including, but not limited to, Terms of Service and User Terms. Please read thoroughly.

1.2

AI Features are not part of the standard Services and require active opt-in by the Customer. By subscribing to and activating AI Features (the "AI Add-on"), you accept these AI Terms as an integrated part of the agreement between the Customer and .legal. Therefore, these terms apply in addition to the aforementioned terms.

2. AI features

2.1

.legal provides certain AI-assisted features within the Services (the "AI Features"). These features utilise artificial intelligence technologies provided by third-party AI service providers.

3. Customer responsibility

3.1

The Customer is responsible for all content submitted to AI Features (“AI Input”) as well as all content generated by AI Features based on such AI Input (“AI Output”).

3.2

The Customer must ensure that it has all necessary rights and permissions to submit AI Input and use AI Output in accordance with applicable law.

3.3

The Customer must not use AI Features in a manner that violates applicable law or .legal's terms, including these AI Terms.

4. Disclaimer

4.1

AI Output may not be accurate, complete, or reliable. .legal does not guarantee that AI Features will be error-free or uninterrupted.

4.2

The Customer acknowledges that AI Features do not constitute legal advice and must independently verify all AI Output before relying on it for any purpose.

4.3

.legal disclaims all liability for decisions made or actions taken based on AI Output.

4.4

.legal is not liable for indirect loss, loss of profit, lost revenue, or loss of data as a result of the Customer's use of AI Features.

5. Data

5.1

When the Customer uses AI Features, both AI Input and AI Output (including any Customer Data contained therein) will be processed by .legal's third-party AI service providers solely to enable the AI Features and for content moderation purposes.

5.2

No training is conducted on data used for this purpose, neither at .legal nor by third-party AI service providers.

5.3

Data is processed within the EU by default.

5.4

For detailed information regarding data processing in relation to AI Features, including information about sub-processors, please refer to .legal's Data Processing Agreement.

6. Intellectual property rights

6.1

Between the Customer and .legal, the Customer retains all rights to AI Output generated through the Customer's use of AI Features, subject to the Customer's compliance with these AI Terms and applicable law.

6.2

The Customer acknowledges that AI Output may not be unique and that similar or identical AI Output may be generated for other users.

6.3

.legal and its licensors retain all rights to the AI Features, including underlying models, algorithms, and technology.

7. Availability and modifications

7.1

.legal may at any time, at its sole discretion, modify, suspend, or discontinue AI Features.

7.2

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in .legal's Terms of Service (and other relevant terms), any unavailability of AI Features resulting from failures of third-party AI service providers shall not constitute a breach of .legal's obligations.

7.3

.legal reserves the right to make changes to these AI Terms. Material changes will be notified to the Customer in accordance with the notice in our Terms of Service.
